[dropcap size=small]J[/dropcap]on Favreau has gained some notoriety in the past years taking part in films with rather large fan followings. One of his most recent popular projects was the Iron Man movie franchise where he not only directed the first two movies but actually played a role in the movies as well. The third movie had a different director, but he still played the role of executive producer and continued to act as Tony Stark’s handy-man, Happy Hogan.

Favreau has now also taken on some other upcoming film projects. The most anticipated project being the live-action version of Disney’s The Jungle Book. This film is slated to release in April of next year but Favreau claims to have no other projects following this one.

Recent rumors have suggested however that Favreau would be taking over the director role of the second Stars Wars sequel movie after the departing of Josh Trank. Favreau reacted to these rumors on Twitter where he stated that he would not be taking over the role of director for the Star Wars film.

The initial Tweet actually had fans thinking that he was leading them on about a possible future Star Wars project after the second sequel film. However, once again, Favreau reassured fans that he would not be partaking in any Star Wars projects in a follow-up tweet.

Favreau had originally been a consideration for director of The Force Awakens film, but Abrams obviously ended up with the director’s role. For now it seems Favreau will take no role in the upcoming films. Star Wars: The Force Awakens comes to theatres December 18, 2015 with two more predicted Star Wars films to come out in December 2016 and May 2017.
