How is Netflix’s ‘Full House’ Sequel Explaining No Olsen Twins?

What will happen to Michelle Tanner?

Remember Full House? Well, it was a family comedy TV show which followed the much loved Tanner family. The Olsen twins played little Michelle Tanner, which skyrocketed the pair to fame as the recognisable face of the same character back in 1987.

Recently, Netflix announced they would be doing a sequel of the comedy series, Fuller House, but it was revealed that Mary-Kate and Ashely Olsen wouldn’t be back to reprise the role with other cast members Bob Saget, John Stamos, Lori Loughlin, and Dave Coulier.

So how will they explain Michelle’s absence? She was, after all, one of the most popular characters in the series.

US weekly reports that the character’s within the new series will mention Michelle from time and time, and tell of her life as a fashion designer in New York where she’s working to build her own empire. Seems Michelle is not so far off from the Olsen twins in real life.

Apparently there will also be nods to Michelle’s famous catchphrase ‘you got it dude’, which can be heard when the characters call her up within an episode.

Fuller House will follow D.J. Tanner-Fuller who is a widow and mother of three. When everything gets too hard to handle, she asks for help from her sister Stephanie and best friend Kimmy, and many antics are sure to ensue.

So there you have it, whilst we won’t be seeing the Olsen twins, Michelle isn’t excluded from the Fuller House world completely.

Fuller House is due on Netflix sometime in 2016.
