Word on the streets is the rights to Hitman would remain with IO Interactive, but there is some unsettling information floating around. The development of Hitman: Season Two is half way developed in terms of completion. It has been mentioned that IO planned to make three seasons of Hitman; however anymore information cannot be shared at the moment. IO is said to plan an official announcement next week.
Despite the information provided, Square Enix is putting IO Interactive up for sale when the organization releases it’s year-end report. With that said, it will be hard to predict the possibility of Square retaining the rights to the Hitman IP due to Danish studio’s purchase of IO Interactive.
