From Apple Inc. to Arnold Schwarzenegger, we take a look at what and who has gone through the biggest changes while under the media spotlight.

Reinventions are a hard thing to do. Too often people or products find themselves constrained to their natural limitations, breaking free of these shackles is no easy feat. However, it is an achievable feat. Below are some people and some things that have managed to reinvent themselves over time.

A peculiar one to start with but nonetheless you cannot say that bingo has not reinvented itself over the years. The game has moved out of the bingo hall and onto the web with sites like 32Red and Unibet. The internet has helped bingo become cool again whilst also opening it up to both sexes. Whereas real-world bingo is spluttering, the online version is flying and is very much here to stay.

If you were to play at 32Red you would be amazed by the bumper jackpots, something which has helped the game enjoy exponential growth online these past few years. When you have players scooping £5.9 million it is hard not to embrace the game.

The American singer first came to fame as the squeaky clean Hannah Montana, the jewel in Disney’s crown. Then 2013 happened, which was very much the year of Miley. For starters, we were treated to songs like “We Can’t Stop”, which made not to subtle references to drugs, as well as cannabis themed clothing. The outfits became smaller and twerking became a thing, but the biggest eye opener to this new Miley Cyrus has to be at the 2013 VMA Awards in which she did her now infamous duet with Robin Thicke.

Miley showed the world she was no Hannah Montana, she was a rock star not a daughter of dixy.

The very notion of Apple struggling seems hard to comprehend in the modern-era but it was something that the company did fall victim to in the 1990s. With the visionary Steve Jobs no longer with the company and some questionable products, it seemed like Apple was destined for the scrap pile. Fortunately Jobs’ messiah-like return in 1997 helped turn things round for the Silicon Valley company. Jobs not only strove to reduce the cost to the consumer in buying a Mac, a PC that was hideously overpriced, but he also oversaw the release of the iPod in 2001 and the iPhone in 2007. The rest is history.

Apple went from a company on the brink to the company on the tip of everyone’s tongue; in the current market it is, more often than not, the go-to technological product.

Schwarzenegger is one of the undisputed kings of the action movie. He has had star turns in Terminator 2 and True Lies, which are both James Cameron films. Acting in itself was a reinvention of Arnie, who had originally garnered fame for his success on the bodybuilding circuit. But the biggest shock to most people regarding the Austrian came in 2003, when he was elected Governor of California. This was a role he occupied for the next eight years.

Arnie, a well-known Hollywood hard man, proved no soft touch in the political arena either but he was also a man of progress and his work on climate change in the state has seen California leading the way in fighting climate change in the U.S.

Reinvention is something that is hard to pull off, it requires complete committal. Other honourable mentions include George Foreman, Victoria Beckham, Nokia, and Nintendo.
