After years of fans begging for a Pokemon RPG, we’re finally getting it.

[dropcap size=small]W[/dropcap]hen The Pokémon Company’s Tsunekazu Ishihara appeared from behind a desk at this year’s E3 announcing a Pokemon RPG many people had their minds blown. For years, ever since Pokemon came out and RPGs made their way into popularity within the gaming community many fans asked for a Pokemon RPG. For a while, The Pokemon Company refused to do so, they even laughed at the idea and some fans lost hope. Luckily, all that has now changed.

Series director, producer, composer Junichi Masuda and director Shigeru Ohmori recently sat down with Game Informer to discuss how they felt about the Nintendo Switch’s release and how dedicated they are to creating a Pokemon game that satisfies fan’s high expectations. (Which we have every right to claim. IT’S BEEN YEARS I TELL YOU. YEARS!) In the interview, it appears that the growing pressure from fans combined with the release of the Nintendo Switch has pushed The Pokemon Company in the right direction. After all, The Pokemon Company has always worked closely with Nintendo so with the release of the Switch The Pokemon Company was impressed and decided to move forward with an RPG-themed Pokemon game. It’s about damn time.
