Everyone’s favorite hockey mask wearing killer’s return to the big screen has been unfortunately pushed back.

Paramount Pictures has announced that the release date for the newest installment in the Friday the 13th series has been pushed back from May 13th, 2016 to January 13, 2017. Although the release date is almost 6 months later then the original, it does fall on a Friday the 13th so I guess that makes up for it?
Friday the 13th has been confirmed to not be a sequel to the 2009 movie of the same name and producer Brad Fuller has expressed interest in taking Jason back to Camp Crystal Lake while also exploring the origin of the character and how he got his immortality.
Friday the 13th hits theaters January 13, 2017.
