Earlier this week, we reported that some major collaborations were on the way to the popular battle royale game, Fortnite. Franchises such as Doom, Family Guy, The Lord of the Rings, and Destiny 2 were among the brands revealed as coming or in the works somehow. However, it seems that Fortnite is coming to Destiny 2, rather than the other way around.
Dataminer Ginsor appears to be among the first to discover that a Fortnite-themed set of armor will be coming to Destiny 2’s microtransaction cosmetic store, Eververse. Take a look for yourself below (assuming you didn’t get a good look at the featured image above).

The armor sets coming to Destiny 2 are themed around three popular Fortnite skins which consist of the Black Knight for the Titan, Drift for the Warlock, and the Omega/Oblivion for the Hunter. It is not clear how Ginsor figured out these would be Eververse exclusive but we don’t really see any other way that makes sense to obtain the armor in-game. We doubt there will be some Fortnite-themed Destiny event.
At this point, we aren’t sure whether or not Destiny 2 is coming to Fornite somehow but it’s obvious a collaboration is happening at least the other way around. However, we have to imagine if Fortnite is coming to Destiny 2, then some popular Destiny characters would have to make it over to Fortnite eventually. Unless this is the full extent of their parternship agreement but there is no way to tell for certain at the given time.
Shockingly, we never would have guessed that Fortnite would be coming to Destiny as Bungie’s first-person shooter has never branched out before to collaborate with other franchises (save for the anniversary set that has a few Halo-themed cosmetics).
We do not know when this collaboration is happening but some rumors suggest that a collaboration of some sort is happening next week either in Fortnite or Destiny 2 or both. That said, we know that big things are coming next week for Destiny 2 with Bungie’s Showcase event and “Season of the Plunder” happening on Tuesday, August 23rd. The Showcase is scheduled for 9:00a PST and season 18 will begin presumably at reset at 10:00a PST.
