Director David Ayer tweeted the first photo of the cast in costume for the highly anticipated comic book film Suicide Squad.
Director David Ayer took to Twitter to show off the cast in full costume as the Suicide Squad. His tweet said, “Task Force X assembled and ready #SuicideSquad”. Within three minutes of being released the photo was retweeted over eighteen thousand times.
The photo shows nearly everyone in the cast. The only people missing from the cast is Jared Leto as the Joker, which was released last month, and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller. From left to right you have Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Will Smith as Deadshot, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, Adam Beach as Slipknot and Jay Hernandez as El Diablo. The photo also features Karen Fukuhara, who was previously rumored to be Plastique, but now her costume is closer to representing Katana.
An hour after David Ayer tweeted his photo, Will Smith posted a photo on Facebook of himself in full costume as Deadshot, offering a better look at the costume design and Deadshot’s signature mask.
The movie, based on the popular DC comic book series about a group of supervillians hired for a mission that would give them a clean slate, is currently shooting in Toronto right now. Ben Affleck is rumored to make a cameo in the film as well. He was spotted in Toronto last week near the filming location.
Suicide Squad will be released August 2016.
