Photos from an apparent costume fitting reveal the new look for Carrie Fisher’s Princess Leia.
[dropcap size=small]T[/dropcap]he new costume for Princess Leia in Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been leaked online. The images were allegedly taken during a costume fitting for the movie. Carrie Fisher seems to be wearing some sort of a militaristic garb, which could mean that she is one of the higher ups in the Rebel forces.

Leia looks much older and loses her iconic hairstyle but overall the new character design looks good.
The full role of Princess Leia in The Force Awakens is unknown but one major detail is. At The Force Awakens panel at the Star Wars Celebration back in April, it was revealed that Leia is the one who sends Poe Dameron on the mission that will result in him meeting up with Finn and Rey on their quest to find Jedi Master Skywalker.
Leia is the fifth character from the original trilogy revealed to be in the next movie, the others being Han Solo, Chewbacca, R2-D2, and C3PO. Other have been speculating that the hand in the beginning of the second trailer is Luke’s but that has not been confirmed. This could point towards a focus on the new characters, like Rey, Finn, Poe, Kylo Ren, etc., and that the characters from the original trilogy may have more minor roles.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens will hit theaters later this year on December 18th.
