Despite the fact that official modding tools aren’t available for Fallout 4, modders still found a way to put their own mark on the game with their own mods!
[dropcap size=small]S[/dropcap]o far, Fallout 4 has impressed gamers that have played the game. One of the best ways to enjoy a good game is by modding it to look a little different than the original version.
PC Gamer spotted the mod on the Nexusmod website from user NarcoticDrugs. The mod allows players to capture any monster or animal and keep it as your own. So many choices to choose for a companion.
The list of monsters available include deathclaws, yao guias, cats, super mutant behemoths, raider dogs, mutant hounds, gorillas, raid scorpions, savage dogs, and synths. There is one note about having a cat with you; it will not engage in battle when all other creatures would. So if you plan on having a companion that will fight on your side, don’t pick the cat. It will betray you when you need it most.
Since the PC console command allows players to call upon their companions to help fight, most would think this is not needed. But this mod also works for companions to come help you into battle, instead of limiting your options to just monsters/pets.
If you are not a fan of the monster squad mod, there’s a different mod you can look to called the single deer follower mod. This mod allows you to have a two-headed deer at your side into combat. According to NarcoticDrugs, both mods are compatible with the Diane female follower mod, This mod allows you to have a female companion and when combined with the monster minion mod, you are able to have up to three companions.
According to Bethesda, the official modding tools will be available in 2016. When they are available, these will be used to produce mods compatible for the Xbox One. This also gives Fallout 4 players on Microsoft’s console access to the mods from the PC version. No, I don’t believe the nude mod will be part of the mods available for the Xbox console.
The Fallout series is known to be a single-player game, but with these mods, you won’t have to do all of your missions by yourself. The game hasn’t been out for that long, but you can already tell that between the missions, mysteries and mods put together have made this game a lot of fun to play.
