The Star Wars experience isn’t just in a galaxy far, far away. It’s in a place close to home, too.
[dropcap size=small]L[/dropcap]ast summer, the co. chairman and president at Walt Disney, Bob Iger, revealed that they were ‘creating a jaw-dropping new world,’ which would be their ‘largest single themed land expansion, ever.’
It was quite the opening to a presentation that unveiled a brand new ‘Star Wars experience,’ that’s set to open in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Florida, and Disneyland in Anaheim, California.
The theme park expansion will see an entirely new 14-acre land in the form of a port, which will remain true to the mythology and style of the Star Wars universe.
It will be occupied by local inhabitants, such as droids and aliens, who will also man a restaurant cantina where you can try local delicacies, making it a ‘truly immersive experience.’
Sounds pretty darn awesome, doesn’t it? Who else hopes they play the cantina music from A New Hope?
Disney recently unveiled the first look at the theme parks during an ABC Special (The Wonderful World of Disney), where the lovable rogue Harrison Ford presented us with concept art that will send you into light-speed with excitement.

One of the most exciting aspects of the new parks will be the two brand new rides, and we’ve finally gotten a little sneak peak.
One will make many a Star Wars fan’s dreams come true, by including a ride which will allow us to pilot the Millenium Falcon on a ‘customised’ secret mission.
The other ride will put us right in the heart of a climatic battle between the First Order and the Resistance. It looks set to be quite the adventure!
