[dropcap size=small]C[/dropcap]hris Pratt rocketed to A-list celebrity status last year with The LEGO Movie and Guardians of the Galaxy, and now he may be in the running for what would be his Holy Grail of roles: Indiana Jones.

After laying the groundwork for their Marvel and Star Wars films, Disney is now reportedly focusing on reviving the Indiana Jones franchise. The studio purchased distribution rights from Paramount in 2013 following their purchase of LucasFilm. Sources report that the Mouse House has its eyes set on Chris Pratt to inherit the iconic fedora and bullwhip from Harrison Ford.

Pratt has seen big offers come rolling in. He has starring roles in the upcoming films Jurassic World and Cowboy, Ninja, Viking–a film adaptation of the mind-bending comic series. Reports also have him in talks to star alongside Denzel Washington in the remake of John Sturges’ classic Western The Magnificent Seven. All this of course comes in addition to the Guardians of the Galaxy sequel and possible future Marvel films. Still, nabbing the role of Indy would be an enormous testament to the actor’s star power.

Pratt is a busy man to say the least, so it should be cautioned that these musings are all in their earliest of stages. That said, Pratt could be the right man to reinvigorate the Indiana Jones franchise after  2008’s catastrophic Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

Replacing Harrison Ford in one of his most iconic roles is a tall order. Do you think Chris Pratt is the right man for the job? Let us know in the comments below!
