Smoking In Disney is Strictly Prohibited.
[dropcap size=small]T[/dropcap]he Walt Disney Company has announced that it has accepted a proposal to all smoking scenes in their movies, heralding a new standard for the animated film giant.
This new policy not only affects Walt Disney Animation, but extends to the corporations other properties including Marvel, Pixar, and Lucasfilm.
An exception to the new policy will be made provided that a person, confirmed by historical data, was a known smoker. For example, if Abraham Lincoln or Winston Churchill were featured in a Disney film, they could be depicted smoking, as this habit can be attributed to them historically.
However, Disney CEO Bob Iger stressed that for any characters created for the purpose of any Disney title, smoking will be strictly prohibited.
Fun fact: Walt Disney himself was known to be a heavy smoker, and the habit contributed to his death in 1966.
