Ajax, Angel Dust and Weasel revealed by the cast before their visit to Comic-Con.
[dropcap size=small]T[/dropcap]he Deadpool stills just keep coming. Yesterday, I posted promo photos of side-kick Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), and now, in the build-up to Comic-Con, the cast has been allowed to release images of their characters.
First up, Ed Skrein (or as you probably best know him: the original Daario Naharis). The Game of Thrones and Transporter Refueled star tweeted this image on Wednesday night.
Skrein will play Wade Wilson’s nemesis Ajax. In the comics, Ajax conducts horrible experiments on Wilson, giving him his healing powers. When Wilson eventually escapes, he takes the codename Deadpool and seeks revenge on his captor. Ajax, who undergoes similar experiments himself, gains an incredible tolerance to pain, as well as increased strength and speed. We think movie Ajax will share these traits when he squares off with Deadpool (played by Ryan Reynolds), who definitely drew the short straw when it came to who got which powers.
The second image is a double reveal. Mixed martial artist Gina Carano posted this next photo, which shows her character, Angel Dust, throttling T.J. Miller’s Weasel, to her Instagram.
Angel Dust is a mutant with superhuman strength, nothing like Weasel, whose only asset is his high level of intelligence, and who is the closest thing Deadpool has to a friend.
Morena Baccarin’s Copycat remains a mystery, but it can’t be long until we get a look at Deadpool’s shape-shifting love interest, now that we’ve been introduced to the rest of the characters.
Deadpool hits theaters on February 12th, 2016.
