Some revealing stills of the eccentric anti-hero have surfaced online.
[dropcap size=small]I[/dropcap]f you’re a Deadpool fan, which you are because Deadpool, you’ve probably been waiting for a trailer. Well, there isn’t one. But we got the next best thing: promo photos! And the first comes courtesy of Empire.
This is probably the single best shot of the Deadpool suit we’ve seen so far, and it just gets better every time you look at it. Standing beside the anti-hero is his anti-sidekick, Ellie Phimister (Brianna Hildebrand), also known as Negasonic Teenage Warhead. Yep, really. Trained by Emma Frost in the art of telepathy, Phimister took her code name from a ’90s track by Monster Magnet. I know nothing about Monster Magnet, but they sound like the sort of band the girl in the photo would listen to.
The second photo is just a reminder that Wade Wilson is not a straight up good guy. No straight up good guy would threaten a teddy bear. ‘Deadpool is a hard R,’ said producer Simon Kinberg in the build-up to Comic-Con. ‘It’s graphic. Nothing is taboo.’ He’s… he’s not gonna shoot the teddy bear though, right?
Deadpool will be directed by Tim Miller and star Ryan Reynolds as Wilson. The film is due to hit theaters on February 12th, 2016.
