[dropcap size=small]I[/dropcap]n April 2014, Dan Didio, co-publisher of DC Comics announced that the weekly comic series that were currently being published in DC’s lineup would be taking a 2 month hiatus beginning at the end of March 2015. Why? Because of the blockbuster story beginning in the Spring–Convergence.

Now that Spring is just around the corner, let’s recap what exactly Convergence is, as well as some recent developments from DC Comics.

Beginning this April, all of DC’s comics will go on hiatus to make way for 40 2-issue miniseries, with 10 issues being released each week. These issues will serve as tie-ins to the primary Convergence storyline, which will begin with a #0 issue and run for eight issues.

The series will focus on heroes and villains from all-throughout DC Comics history, including their pre-Flashpoint incarnations, as well as characters who were not carried over to the New 52, and even some who existed pre-Crisis on Infinite Earths.

The narrative begins on a world outside time and space, the villain Brainiac has used his access to Vanishing Point to roam the history of the DC Universe. Using it to abduct heroes from different lost and defunct eras from across the multiverse, Brainiac amasses a collection of 40 worlds and forces them into conflict. The ensuing chaos pits various DC heroes and villains and their historic or multiverse counterparts against each other, as a villain known as Telos arises to take advantage of it all.
