If you haven’t seen Star Wars: The Force Awakens yet there are spoilers ahead!
[dropcap size=small]I[/dropcap]t appears that England’s best secret agent has disappeared on a mission in a galaxy far, far away. Daniel Craig, the actor who recently returned to reprise his role as James Bond in the film Spectre, dressed up as a stormtrooper for Star Wars: The Force Awakens and while you could never tell it was him, his performance as a mind controlled stormtrooper is superb.
In Star Wars: The Force Awakens Daisy Ridley’s character Rey is captured and brought back to what can only be described as the Death Star on steroids. While she is being held, she tries multiple times to use the Jedi mind trick on a stormtrooper that is keeping an eye on her. After several failed attempts Rey finally is able to say “You will remove these restraints and leave this cell with the door open,” to the stormtrooper that is in fact Daniel Craig. This an obvious shout out to Obi-Wan Kenobi’s “these aren’t the droids you’re looking for” with some comedic moments thrown in. Of course, the only minor indicator that the stormtrooper was actually Daniel Craig is if you listen very closely you can hear a slight British accent.
