Remember when Cyberpunk 2077 launched in 2020 and immediately faceplanted into a bug-ridden mess so spectacular it made Sony pull all the game’s marketing and delist it from store fronts? Yeah, CD Projekt Red remembers too. But unlike most studios that would quietly sweep their disaster under the neon rug, CDPR rolled up their sleeves, muttered “we can fix this,” and have been delivering non-stop ever since. And this week? It’s a double-dose of chrome-plated redemption.

On Wednesday, July 16th, CD Projekt Red is kicking off a brand-new REDstreams to give us a sneak peek at Patch 2.3, the next major update for Cyberpunk 2077. This isn’t just a couple of bullet points and a promise to “improve stability”—CDPR is pulling back the curtain on what’s actually going on under the hood. Like a mechanic explaining why your futuristic motorcycle can now drift, shoot rockets, and talk dirty to you in bed.

The stream will be co-piloted by Pawel Sasko, Associate Game Director for Cyberpunk 2 (yes, the sequel is happening), and Adrien Jouannet, Lead Designer at Virtuos, the team helping refine Night City’s chaos into playable art. CDPR posted the details on Twitter/X/whatever it’s called, this week:

“New REDstreams incoming! We’re driving into Patch 2.3 of Cyberpunk 2077 to check what’s under the hood of the newest update.”

Patch 2.3 is expected to continue the studio’s trend of not only fixing what was broken but adding more stuff you didn’t ask for but now can’t live without—missions, cosmetics, vehicles, and so many bug fixes it’s starting to feel like the codebase is getting therapy.

Then on Thursday, July 17th, the Ultimate Edition of Cyberpunk 2077 launches on macOS—because yes, finally, your overpriced fruit-branded laptop will be able to run one of the most ambitious open-world RPGs in recent memory. CDPR’s official statement was refreshingly direct:

“Mac version of Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition drops July 17th, 2025!”

First came next-gen consoles. Then the Steam Deck. Then Nintendo Switch. And now Apple’s space-grey battlestations are finally getting a turn. If your Mac can edit a Hollywood trailer while you Zoom call your therapist, it can probably run Night City on Ultra.

Let’s just be real for a second: CDPR fumbled the bag in 2020 harder than a netrunner with wet fingers. But since then, they’ve gone full montage mode, turning Cyberpunk 2077 into one of the best games from the last couple years. And with 2.3 on the horizon and a Mac release locked in, all that lost good will has definitely been re-earned.

So whether you’re booting up Night City on a liquid-cooled gaming rig or your sleek MacBook Pro with a screen so sharp it might cut you—just know this: Cyberpunk 2077 is the comeback story no one saw coming, and it’s still getting better.
