[dropcap size=small]A[/dropcap]ctor Colin Farrell has confirmed via an Irish newspaper that he will appear in Season 2 of HBO’s hit show True Detective.
While Colin Farrell did not reveal any specifics on his role, it would not be unreasonable to make the conjecture that he will play one of the lead characters in the series.
When asked about Season 2 of True Detective, Farrell told Ireland’s Sunday World,
[dropcap size=small]“[/dropcap]I’m doing the second series. I’m so excited. I know it will be eight episodes and take around four or five months to shoot.”
True Detective was a critical success for HBO, thanks to an engrossing story and stellar performances by Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey.
Season 2 of the anthology series will act as a spiritual successor to Season 1, exploring a new mystery in a new location with a different cast of characters.
Series creator Nic Pizzolatto previously revealed that Season 2 will take place in California, and will feature “hard women, bad men and the secret occult history of the United States transportation system.”
HBO has yet to confirm this latest casting news, and other details on the plot continue to be shrouded in mystery. The rumor-mill is abuzz that Taylor Kitsch, Elisabeth Moss, and Vince Vaughn could possibly land roles in series’ second season.
