How Carrie Fisher’s death impacts the storyline of Star Wars remains to be seen.
[dropcap size=small]A[/dropcap]s tragic as it is that Carrie Fisher unexpectedly passed away last week the issue of where Carrie Fisher’s role in Star Wars needs to be addressed. According to the Variety‘s sources, Carrie Fisher has completed all of her work for Star Wars Episode VIII and the film finished production back in July. Thus Disney and Lucasfilm won’t have to address the implications of Carrie Fisher’s death until Episode IV begins shooting in 2018.
Unfortunately, it appears that production for the ninth installment in Star Wars never began and thus Carrie Fisher’s role in the film is uncertain. Both Disney and Lucasfilm have yet to release a statement regarding how this tragic incident will impact the plotline for the Episode IV. We can only hope that the explanation for Carrie Fisher’s absence in Episode IV fits in well with the story and also pays tribute to how incredible she was to fans, friends, and family alike.
