The anime short is available as of Tuesday, 9/26 on CrunchyRoll and VRV.

Black Out 2022 takes place 3 years after the first film and comes in part of a series of shorts that will fill in the gaps between then and the upcoming feature film, Blade Runner 2049. 2036: Nexus Dawn and 2048: Nowhere to Run are also available to fill the Blade Runner void you have been missing.

You likely have seen Shinichiro Watanabe’s work, whether it be from Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, Space Dandy, or even segments of the Animatrix. His artistic directive are clear in the trailer, so if you are a fan of his, and a fan of Blade Runner, you probably just ran into your match made from the heavens. In any case, go over to crunchyroll.com and check it out.
