Yesterday at this years Comic-Con in sunny San Diego, CA, fans looking forward to the Batman v Superman flick were in for quite a treat when Zack Snyder stepped up on the stage in Hall H to debut a short little teaser from the film. While it is likely that you can find a smartphone recording of the footage shown somewhere online, we were asked not to post any footage from what we saw, so we can’t really post MUCH. Though we can do our best to describe it to you.
We Got You Covered managed to get a pretty clear photo of Ben Affleck as Batman in what appears to be armor from The Dark Knight Returns from Frank Miller. Take a look below.
The teaser starts with a bit of thunder and rain to set the dark and gritty tone of Batman and his brooding mood. The Dark Knight heads over a rooftop to remove a tarp that covers the seemingly long since abandoned Bat Signal. Eyes glowing white in the darkness, the caped crusader aims the light upward to the sky towards he clouds overhead. But then, we see Superman is the target for the light, and Batman is staring him down contently. Staring back, the Man of Steel’s eyes begin to glow red in color, as if he is about to unleash a devastating heat-ray vision blast on the Dark Knight. Fade to black.
After the crowd erupted, we were not left with much, only the building of anticipation for something more, something we could really sink our comic teeth into. But that will have to wait for the release.
In other related news, Gal Gadot, who will be playing Princess Diana (WonderWoman) in the film, tweeted out the first photo of herself in costume *drools*.
With many comic book movies on the horizon, we still have a while before we get a chance to see Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, so until then, we will be on top of it bringing you everything you need to keep you satisfied.
Batman v Superman is set to release on May 6, 2016 and stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, and Jason Mamoa (allegedly). The film is directed by Zack Snyder.
