Happy Back to the Future Day! If Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, or Reddit hasn’t already reminded you, today is the day (October 21, 2015) Marty McFly travels to during the second installment of Back to the Future film series. Coincidently, this is also the month in which we celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of this classic franchise.
As we celebrate today, we are reminded of the many “future predictions” Back to the Future Part II made, like hoverboards, food hydrators, and automatic dog walkers.
While many of those products remain fiction, some are becoming a reality to tie in with today’s celebration, one specifically being the Nike Mag sneakers.
Yes, the self-lacing sneakers famously worn by McFly are becoming a reality.
Yesterday on Twitter, Nike teased that we’ll be seeing the futuristic footwear sometime today, and that Marty McFly himself, Micheal J. Fox, will be the first to wear them.
Since then, Fox has indeed step into the Mags once again, and even confirmed the sneakers will be coming next year via his Foundation’s Twitter.

The Mag sneakers weren’t the only futuristic product that became a reality today.
Pepsi Perfect, also featured in Part II, went on sale in limited qualities online through Amazon, and in retail through Wal-Mart.

Good luck finding this futuristic-themed cola though, as it has sold-out online and in many stores.
While Pepsi Perfect may be gone for good, it’s nice to see these relics from the ‘future past’ come to life as we celebrate one of the greatest film series of all-time.
