Sony just dropped the first trailer for Anaconda (2025), a movie that looks like Tropic Thunder crashed into Sharknado and got lost in Jumanji—with a few metric tons of snake thrown in for good measure. Directed by Tom Gormican (The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent), co-written with Kevin Etten, it’s the sixth entry in a franchise that we never expected to give a fresh, new, humorous take. But we are so glad it’s happening, after seeing the trailer. Take a look:
Jack Black and Paul Rudd star as two midlife-crisis buddies who head into the Amazon to remake their favorite childhood movie, only to discover that an actual, real giant bloodthirsty anaconda doesn’t care about their passion project. What starts as a bumbling Disaster Artist riff quickly devolves into a “survive-or-get-swallowed” comedy-horror free-for-all, with Steve Zahn, Thandiwe Newton, Daniela Melchior, and Selton Mello rounding out the chaos.
The movie hits theaters December 25, 2025—because nothing says Christmas like watching Jack Black scream while a 40-foot jungle serpent turns his film set into a buffet.
