[dropcap size=small]W[/dropcap]ith the release of Batman: Arkham Knight less then a month away, many are going into local gaming retailers to pre-order their copy of the game. But with so many different bonuses, how could someone possibly decide which store to choose? To help with the decision process, lets take a look at which retailer is offering.
Standard pre-order bonus: Harley Quinn Story Pack
Arkham Knight will be Harley Quinn first appearance as a DLC character and comes complete with her own unique story, weapons, gadgets, and abilities. Her story pack serves as a prequel to the events of Arkham Knight and revolves around Harley breaking Poison Ivy out of jail and then meeting up Scarecrow as seen in the trailer. This DLC comes standard with all other DLC packs that will be later mentioned.
The following three DLC packs will be available exclusively for Xbox One and PS4.
The Gamestop pre-order bonus lets you play as the brutal vigilante Red Hood, who is actually Jason Todd, the second Robin. Not much is known to what content the story pack will provide but it can be assumed that due to Red Hood’s nature that it will be violent and ruthless. This story pack will also feature the use of guns as they are Red Hood’s main weapons.
Best Buy: WayneTech Booster Pack
This bonus pack does not contain any skins or new story packs, but offers four upgrades that will probably be available to the player later in the game. The four upgrades include access to the explosive gel takedown, aerial juggle, Batarangs while gliding, and a weapon upgrade for the Batmobile. Not the most appealing of offers due to the fact that these skills will be unlocked but hey whatever floats your boat.
The Walmart pre-order bonus includes the Prototype Batmobile skin which will show off the “bleeding edge capabilities” of the original Batmobile. These capabilites include unique handling and different weaponry. What exactly these changes will do to gameplay is unknown at this time.
Amazon: First Appearance Batman Skin Pack
The exclusive Amazon offer is a skin featuring Batman’s first costume as it was scene in Detective Comics No. 27. The giant belt, purple gloves, and skin tight gray suit is not Batman’s most iconic garb but it is one of the classics. This bonus will be available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
Steam: Gotham’s Future Skin Pack
The PC exclusive Gotham’s Future pack includes an updated, futuristic Batman Beyond skin and the older version of Batman from The Dark Knight Returns.
