I have a feeling these “unexpected” events wont be so unexpected if you have read my article on the latest Star Wars leak. However, lets pretend for a minute that you haven’t.
With the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi only 4 months away, we have been given more and more tidbits of information with Adam Driver, who plays Kylo Ren, now hinting at “unexpected events”.
In a recent interview with Sunday Today, Driver was asked whether or not fans would be happy with the events that will occur in the upcoming new movie, and in expressing his hopes many would be onboard, he said:
“God, I hope. I hope they will. I think it will be hopefully unexpected.”
Earlier this month, EW did a huge spread on Star Wars: The Last Jedi which contained all sorts of information and included in the coverage was the revelation Han Solo’s “figurative ghost” will heavily factor into the arcs for both Rey and Kylo Ren, giving their rivalry/grudge a more personal edge.
While the Star Wars creative team admits there are some parallels to The Empire Strikes Back in the script, from the sound of things, The Last Jedi will most definitely be doing its own thing. After The Force Awakens was accused of being a New Hope remake, Episode VIII is set to avoid a similar accusation with a fresh narrative and all-new, exciting planets.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be showing in cinemas 15 December 2017. So not long at all to see what the franchise has in store!
