[dropcap size=small]S[/dropcap]tar Wars Episode VII finally has an official subtitle: The Force Awakens
Disney made the announcement via Twitter, while simaltaneously announcing that the highly anticipated film has completed principal photography.

The title sounds much more appropriate than the previously rumored subtitle, The Ancient Fear, which drew much closer parallels to another film we wish to forget – Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens sounds much more traditional, keeping more in line with the classic Star Wars films. Director J.J. Abrams has stated himself that his Star Wars is being made to feel like an extension of the original trilogy, by incorporating the original cast and relying heavily on practical effects instead of CGI like the prequel trilogy.
No other details about the film’s plot were revealed, but the new title should offer up plenty of opportunities for speculation.
What do you think of the new title?
STAR WARS EPISODE VII: THE FORCE AWAKENS is due out in theaters December 18, 2015 (Damn, it felt good saying that)!
