When previous Disney CEO Bob Iger said Star Wars was “taking a breather” he wasn’t kidding. The next Star Wars film to be released won’t arrive in theaters until December 23, 2023.
While we have a long wait ahead of us there is some good news. Patty Jenkins, director of Wonder Woman and Wonder Woman 1984, will be the director for the film. The director also has a personal tie to the project. Her father was a fighter pilot and she’s always wanted to director a fighter pilot movie. Luckily, she now gets to do just that.
There is no news on when Rogue Squadron will begin filming but we’re betting sometime in fall 2021. Stayed tuned for more updates!
