AMC Global Media announced today that HIDIVE has signed its largest content programming deal in the streaming service’s history, an expanded multi-year output agreement with Japan’s Mainichi Broadcasting System that builds on a partnership the two companies originally launched back in March 2023.
That initial deal already produced a solid run of series for HIDIVE subscribers, including My Gift Lvl 9999 Unlimited Gacha, I Parry Everything, The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen: From Villainess to Savior, and HELL MODE: The Hardcore Gamer Dominates in Another World with Garbage Balancing, which is a title that deserves to be read aloud at least once. The new agreement extends and significantly expands that collaboration, giving HIDIVE exclusive worldwide distribution rights to MBS’s upcoming multi-year anime programming slate across all territories outside of Asia.
Every title covered under the deal will simulcast exclusively on HIDIVE for subscribers across the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand as the series roll out across upcoming seasons.
The first title out of the gate under the new agreement is Nia Liston: The Merciless Maiden, a fantasy action series adapted from the long running light novel written by Umikaze Minamino and illustrated by Katana Canata and JISHAKU.
Directed by Motoki Nakanishi with assistant direction from Haruta Segi, series composition by Gigaemon Ichikawa, and production handled by Konami Animation, the series stars Honoka Inoue as protagonist Nia Liston and is set to debut this October as part of HIDIVE’s Fall 2026 simulcast season.
An official English trailer dropped alongside today’s announcement, and HIDIVE will present the North American premiere of the series at Anime NYC 2026 on Friday, August 21st from 4:00 to 5:00 pm Eastern in Room 1A15 through 18 on the South Javits Level 1 of the Javits Center.
The remaining titles covered under the MBS deal will be announced down the line, meaning today is effectively the opening move in what is shaping up to be a very long and very stacked content pipeline for one of the more quietly aggressive players in the anime streaming space.
