Earlier this week, Stardew Valley publisher Chucklefish shared some new in-game stills of their upcoming witchcraft and wizardry game, Witchbrook. If you haven’t heard of it, you may find yourself pleasantly surprised at how this indie studio is piecing together what looks to be one of the most charmingly delightful gaming experiences we have seen since Stardew Valley.

Witchbrook is basically like a more detailed Stardew Valley mixed with Harry Potter, if you can imagine. Here is Chucklefish’s description of the game taken from their official Witchbrook home page:
Experience the thrills and pitfalls of school-life in Witchbrook! Discover a spellbinding isometric pixel art world full of charm and intrigue in this richly detailed magical school and town life simulator.
Forge your own identity as a witch-in-training on the road to graduation. Build relationships with fellow students and townsfolk, develop your magical abilities by attending classes and completing assignments. Participate in extracurricular activities such as fishing, growing magical crops and foraging strange mushrooms. Master secret spells, make friends for life and unravel the mysteries of the school…
Who will be your best friend? Your rival? And your date for prom?
Witchbrook is still very early in development, but you can head over to their homepage to sign up for their newsletter to get all the updates and information as soon as it comes available.
No word just yet on a release date or what platforms the game will come to, but we suspect that it will be like Starbound and be on PC for sure. We suspect that the charming art style would feel right at home on the Switch, and other consoles, just like Stardew Valley, but we will just have to remain hopeful and support the devs by letting them know where we want it.
