Coming later this summer, Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time is what seems to be a video game that preludes the animated series as a sequel of sorts where Jack is hurled through various time periods before being sent to the future. The news of the new game broke this morning through IGN, and you can take a look at the official announcement trailer courtesy of their official YouTube:
The game is all in 3D with the entire original voice cast returning to their respective roles. The gameplay looks similar to another Samurai title, Afro Samurai, where you pretty much just go around slashing enemies to pieces. #JustSamuraiThings
Beyond the hack and slash, the time travel elements look to be an interesting aspect of the game environments as Jack goes through these time periods and timelines, thus allowing him to use a variety of weapons and tools unique to the respective era in a desperate effort to get home and defeat the villainous Aku once and for all.
Samurai Back: Battle Through Time will be available on PC, PS4, and XBO later this summer. While no word on a Switch version, the game looks like it would be perfect for the device, so fingers crossed it makes its way there sooner rather than later. You can also pre-order the game or add it to your wishlist on Steam right now.
