YEAH BABY!
It’s been over 13 years and three Cars movies, but the most anticipated Pixar sequel is finally happening. Check out the first teaser trailer for Incredibles 2.
While cute and silly, the trailer really didn’t show us anything new. We knew Jack-Jack has a variety of emerging superpowers (most prominently displayed here being heat vision) since the end of the first movie (no capes). However, the trailer does confirm that the sequel takes place shortly after the first film, and will apparently be a story focused on Mrs. Incredible, per the film’s official synopsis below.
Everyone’s favorite family of superheroes is back in “Incredibles 2” – but this time Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is in the spotlight, leaving Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell) and Dash (voice of Huck Milner) to navigate the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life. It’s a tough transistion for everyone, made tougher by the fact that the family is still unaware of baby Jack-Jack’s emerging superpowers. When a new villain hatches a brilliant and dangerous plot, the family and Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) must find a way to work together again—which is easier said than done, even when they’re all Incredible.
The Incredibles is one of the best Pixar AND superhero movies of all-time, and it has always been one of the few Pixar movies that absoultely demanded a sequel (second reminder that THREE Cars movies happened), and we cannot wait for it to finally come.
The Incredibles 2 hits theaters on June 15, 2018.
