One of Marvel’s 2018 projects is finally under way!
[dropcap size=small]E[/dropcap]arlier last week, Ant-Man and the Wasp started production for their much-anticipated sequel to The Ant-Man. Safe to say, production has gotten to an interesting start.
Paul Rudd, who will reprise his role of Scott Lang/Ant-Man, posted a video to Instagram wishing Fletcher, a young fan of Rudd, Happy Birthday. At the end of the video, there’s another Marvel hero to wish Fletcher Happy Birthday!

That’s right! Benedict Cumberbatch, who debuted in the Marvel Universe as Doctor Strange, was there with Rudd. Although no one has said that he won’t be in Ant-Man and the Wasp, I wouldn’t throw that idea out the window just yet. Shooting for the movie started in Atlanta, it may have been a coincidence. But lets be optimistic in saying that he might play a role in this movie! They will both star in Avengers: Infinity Wars, which will feature over 20 Marvel heros, with potentially more joining later this year.
This is the official synopsis for Ant-Man and the Wasp:
From the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes a new chapter featuring heroes with the astonishing ability to shrink: “Ant-Man and The Wasp.” In the aftermath of “Captain America: Civil War,” Scott Lang (Rudd) grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a Super Hero and a father. As he struggles to rebalance his home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he’s confronted by Hope van Dyne (Lilly) and Dr. Hank Pym (Douglas) with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside The Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from their past.
Outside of the main characters, Michelle Pfeiffer will play as the old Wasp, Laurence Fishburne as Bill Foster/Goliath, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, Walter Goggins as Sonny Burch and Hannah John-Kamen as The Ghost.
Ant-Man and the Wasp is scheduled to be released to theaters on July 6, 2018
