Guillermo del Toro won’t be returning as director, however.
[dropcap size=small]T[/dropcap]he studio Millenium is doing everything they can to bring Hellboy back to life and Larry Gordon, Mike Richardson, and Lloyd Levin are to produce the film. Not only that but Game of Thrones director Neil Marshall will be directing the film and best of all Stranger Things star David Harbour is currently in talks to play Hellboy himself. After nearly nine long years the cigar smoking, shoot-first-ask-questions-later bad ass is back.
The first Hellboy film was released back in 2004 and made over $100 million overall internationally and domestically with a budget of $66 million. Unfortunately, the second Hellboy film didn’t do so well thanks to the release of The Dark Knight nearly a week after and producers Larry Gordon and Lloyd Levin opted to hold off on making a third film. But yet, it seems they believe the time is right for another Hellboy film and a reboot too. Producer Mike Richardson is working with Aron Coleite (Heroes) on the script.
