After it’s release back in 2011, Trion Worlds has been keeping its Rift players happy by supplying them with a diverse set of new downloadable content for the MMO. Rift became free to play for users in 2013 and since this update, the new content area has been a bit lacking. Starfall Prophecy supposedly is looking to change the game for the better with some much needed sufficient game updates, but it comes with the price tag of $40.

According to the new expansion, Trion is calling Rift, Rift 4.0 now because of the drastic game play changes that are coming with the new download. Starfall Prophecy is claimed to expand the size of Rift’s MMO world as well as a number of technical improvements to the game play itself as displayed in the video above. The new download brings five new playable areas, two dungeons, and a raid according to Gamespot. Users can also use a new feature called “Looking for Raids” as well to make it easier for players to join other raids. Players will also be receiving in this expansion, “Fortress Siege”, which is a new battle format that Trion says ” increase(s) in complexity and size, spanning from solo battles, to groups, to even raids.” Some other updates include new Legendary Powers, Eternal Items, Planar Fragments, and a bump of the level cap to 70.

Starfall Prophecy does not change the overall game price, meaning the DLC is not required for users to continue to play the MMO. Players can pre-order the expansion now with the normal edition costing $40 and a Deluxe Edition for $60.

Starfall Prophecy will become available to players this fall with no current exact release date.
