#TBT today for Nintendo with a re-release of a mini NES.
With the recent release of Pokemon Go, Nintendo has started to see some much awaited success. But they aren’t stopping just with the successful app. Today, Nintendo announced that they will be bringing back the throwback favorite, the NES…with a bit of a twist. It’s a mini version.
Nintendo news today claims that they will be bringing to the market the NES: Classic Edition, a system that looks exactly like the original NES, but smaller. The “console” will come with 30 original games built into the system that you can connect to your television via an HDMI cord. A controller will also come with the new mini Nintendo similar to that of the original system controller as well. An added feature of the new controller allows it to connect to a Wii/Wii U controller for Wii compatibility.
The NES:Classic will (as of now) support the following old school games:
- Balloon Fight
- Bubble Bobble
- Castlevania
- Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest
- Donkey Kong
- Donkey Kong Jr.
- Double Dragon II: The Revenge
- Dr. Mario
- Excitebike
- Final Fantasy
- Galaga
- Ghosts’N Goblins
- Gradius
- Ice Climber
