Director Steve Spielberg confirmed the news at American Film Tribute.
[dropcap size=small]T[/dropcap]he incredible film composer who is responsible for the music behind Star Wars, Harry Potter, Jurassic Park and Saving Private Ryan is returning to write the music for the fifth film in the Indiana Jones franchise. John Williams will be also be working on the score for Steven Spielberg’s other film project, Ready Player One. If John William’s previous work is any indicator, the music for both films will surely be impressive.
Although Disney announced their plans for a fifth Indiana Jones film back in March, with both Steven Spielberg Harrison Ford attached to the film, nothing exciting about the film has been announced up until now. While this may be a sign that Disney is starting to get the ball rolling on the film, no one is quite sure what the plot for the fifth Indiana Jones film is. The fact that the film is commonly referred to as “Indiana Jones 5” possibly means that Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is, unfortunately, canon. Does this mean that Shia LaBeouf will be appearing in the film? No one is sure.
One thing is certain, with John Williams working on the score for both Indiana Jones 5 and Ready Player One, we can expect some wondrous and phenomenal music from John Williams once again.
Ready Player One will be released in theaters on March 29th, 2018. Indiana Jones 5 will hit theaters July 19th, 2019.
