The Producer for ‘Indiana Jones 5’ Says Harrison Ford Will Not Be Replaced as Indy

The last Indiana Jones film to hit theaters was the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull which greatly disappointed, well, everyone. Keeping that in mind it’s no surprise Disney is taking the next Indiana Jones film seriously.

As of right now, the director of Logan is writing the script for Indiana Jones 5 and many expect him to be the director. But if you’re worried someone like Chris Pratt may be taking over the role of Indy, don’t. Producer Frank Marshall had this to say about the topic:

“Yeah, we are working on the script. There will only be one Indiana Jones and that’s Harrison Ford. What I’m excited about with Jim is a great story. I think you see that in his movies like Ford Vs Ferrari. It’s all about characters and telling a good story. So I’m excited to see what he comes up with. I haven’t seen (the script) yet so I don’t know what to tell you.”

Indiana Jones 5 has experienced several setbacks over the years and Harrison Ford isn’t getting any younger. Now 79, the film is slated for a July 29, 2022 release date which means the actor will be 80 when production begins. Could the fifth Indiana Jones film be the final? We’ll have to wait and see.
