[dropcap size=small]D[/dropcap]uring a press tour for Nicholas Cage’s new movie The Trust, Entertainment Weekly was able to catch up with him to talk about his movie, plus another one that’s been in the works for quite some time; National Treasure 3. Supposedly, what’s taking so long with the movie is the very thing fans love most about it: historical accuracy.
“I haven’t really heard anything about that,” Cage said. “I do know that those scripts are very difficult to write, because there has to be some credibility in terms of the facts and fact-checking, because it was relying on historical events. And then you have to make it entertaining. I know that it’s been a challenge to get the script where it needs to be. That’s as much as I’ve heard. But they’re still working on it.”
National Treasure and National Treasure: Book of Secrets were pretty big hits worldwide, pulling in just over $800 million combined, and with the last entry was almost 10 years ago, fans hopefully won’t have to wait much longer for the much-anticipated third installment.
