“The real war is between the living and the dead.”
[dropcap size=small]T[/dropcap]he latest trailer for the highly anticipated 6th season of George R.R. Martin’s Game of Thrones has arrived, and it certainly doesn’t disappoint! Check it out below:
If a trailer could get an award for offering up so much in such a short space of time, it should go to this one. It may only be two minutes long, but we get a generous helping of what to expect in the upcoming season, with glimpses of pretty much all of the significant characters who will have a part to play.
*Potential spoilers ahead*
Here’s a super quick run-down of everyone we see in the jam-packed two minutes:
- Sansa Stark, who’s clearly ready to reclaim her rightful place as one of the last remaining members of the Stark family.
- Ayra Stark as a pupil of assassins whilst being blind, but is apparently on her ‘second chance.’
- Bran Stark, back in full Warg swing with the three-eyed raven.
- Daenerys Targaryen, who might be in a spot of trouble, appearing to get stripped by who are supposedly the widows of Vaes Dothrak.
- Jorah suffering from Grayscale.
- Little Finger encountering someone in the snow.
- Ramsay Bolton ominously wiping blood off a blade, and fronting an army. Not good.
- Theon Grayjoy (Reek) and sister Yara Grayjoy.
- A fleeting glance of Samwell Tarly in mid-peril.
- Cersei, who wants to remind everyone what a true Lannister can do with her son, Tommen.
- The Mountain – also known as FrankenMoutain among fans – decked in armor and serving Cersei in very violent ways.
- Jaime Lannister, spilling blood in holy places.
- Tyrion Lannister, appearing to be getting involved with dragons.
- A brief moment with Brienne of Tarth.
- Podrick Payn in a tight spot.
- Margaery Tyrell and her brother Loras, looking pretty worse-for-wear.
- A weary Davos Seaworth, warning of the White Walkers, or the army of the dead.
- A passing glimpse of Melisandre.
- Tormund Giantsbane, who believes he was wrong about the man he thought would ‘lead us through the Long Night.’
- Varys, who makes the acquaintance of a Red Priestess.
Oh, and the biggest tease of all – Jon Snow’s dead body is displayed to us again. Just in case we’d forgotten he’s apparently dead. Or is he? We’ll just have to wait and see.
That’s a lot to take in, right?
One things for sure – Game of Thrones season 6 looks set to be fit-to-bursting with intrigue, action, love, revenge, and all the things that make the series great.
We are so ready.
Game of Thrones season 6 is due to air April 24, 2016.
