If all the pieces are there to begin, why not?
[dropcap size=small]W[/dropcap]ith Deadpool set to be released on May 10th on DVD and Blu-Ray, many are asking when the next movie will begin. Why wouldn’t they considering that Deadpool set the record for highest-grossing R-Rated movie of all-time, earning over $700 million worldwide.
In an interview with Heroic Hollywood, Ryan Reynolds said that he has an agreement with 21st Century Fox to star in future franchise appearences, including the Deadpool sequel as Wade Wilson. With the sequel expected to be released to theaters sometime in 2018, it would make sense if the movie started filming this fall, if casting for all the characters goes well.
Deadpool director Tim Miller and Reynolds are on track to creating one of the greatest franchises ever made. Unlike Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice and Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Deadpool exceeded everyone’s expectations. I’m not saying those movies weren’t successful, they were great to watch. But we haven’t seen a movie with the success that Deadpool had this year. The villains anticipated to be in this movie will be Cable and, if it’s true, Domino.
With that being said and Reynolds on board for future films, the next Deadpool movie should get underway very soon. Seeing Ryan Reynolds play Deadpool (again) just goes to show that anyone can redeem themselves if given a second chance.
