The former Rise of the Planet of the Apes director has walked away, leaving FOX to find a new director!
[dropcap size=small]A[/dropcap]fter months of planning for X-Men spinoff movie Gambit, Director Rupert Wyatt has decided to walk away from the movie.
There are rumors that it was because of the script and budget being put into the project, but Wyatt’s camp is saying that it was because of timing. The film was originally suppose to start filming in November down in New Orleans, but it was rescheduled to March, which led Wyatt to say that he couldn’t continue directing Gambit because of another movie commitment. He wouldn’t say which movie conflicted with the Gambit movie.
Wyatt issued this statement: “I was very much looking forward to working with my friend Channing and the team at FOX, but regrettably a push in the start date now conflicts with another project. I thank them for the opportunity, and I know that Gambit will make a terrific film.”
Channing Tatum stars as Gambit and Lea Seydoux will play as Bella Donna Bourdreaux.
Fox is still commited to making Gambit and will look to find a replacement for Wyatt ASAP!
