Recent news has revealed that Mark Hamill is likely going to be voicing the Joker again in a film version of Batman: The Killing Joke.

In the upcoming animated rework of Batman: The Killing Joke, Mark Hamill may be voicing the part of the Joker. He has in the past played the role of the Joker in Batman: The Animated Series as well as voicing the character in the Batman: Arkham video game series. Hamill was recent asked on Twitter if he would be voicing the Joker in The Killing Joke, where he answered:

Not only has Hamill expressed his interest, but it has also been released that he has already began recording his voice for the film. Hamill has been said to be the closest thing to a Heath Ledger like Joker performer with his ability to truly portray (with his voice and charisma) the Joker character.

The Killing Joke is based around the concept of an origin story of the Joker character written by Alan Moore and Brian Bolland. Although the lack of an origin story helps make the Joker much more mysterious and terrifying, the graphic novel helps define the Joker character a little past what we see in the Batman comic books. The film is expected to release sometime next year as a direct-to-video feature for Batman fans.
