If you have a Samsung Smart TV you can access the Playstation Now streaming service, no Playstation 3 or 4 needed.
[dropcap size=small]E[/dropcap]arlier this week on Tuesday, Playstation announced that it’s PlayStation Now streaming service is coming to select Samsung Smart televisions. The service, which will be available to customers in the United States and Canada, allows hundreds of Playstation 3 games to be streamed straight to your compatible Samsung Smart TV. The best part? No consoles or downloads are needed.
This isn’t the first time the Playstation Now streaming service has been available on a smart tv. The service was available for select smart televisions produced by Sony last year and the service was officially offered back in January for customers in the United States and Canada.
While you don’t need a Playstation 3 or a Playstation 4, you do need a Playstation 4 controller to play the games however. In addition to needing a Playstation 4 controller, the Playstation Now service costs either $20 for a one month-long subscription or $45 for three months. It supports online multiplayer, trophies awarded for achievements, and cloud saves.
If you’re curious about which games are available before buying the service, you can go to The Playstation Now’s website to see a list of games that are included with the service, some of which were originally released on the original Playstation and Playstation 2. If you decided that you don’t want to subscribe to Playstation Now, you can also rent the games instead individually.
