The newest trailer has given us some insight on the plot of the film.
[dropcap size=small]W[/dropcap]hen the first trailer for 10 Cloverfield Lane premiered, it took almost everyone by surprise. The film had a different name during production and the first trailer hit the internet in January, only two months before the film’s release.
The first few trailer have left the viewers guessing at what is going to happen, but the latest trailer clears some things up.
Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s character, Michelle Burke, is in a car crash and wakes up chained to a bed underground bunker by John Goodman’s character, Howard Stambler. Nate, played by John Gallagher Jr. then shows up with his arm in a sling and this trailer reveals that he hurt himself trying to get into the bunker.
The rest of this trailer ends like the others: Michelle tries to escape which Howard does not like and a flurry of monster roars and spooky lights.
Along with the release of the trailer, there has been the discovery of alternative reality game, just like the first movie. The same company from the first movie, The Tagruato Company, has made a comeback and on their website a very paranoid looking, but familiar face can be found.
If you google the phrase on John Goodman’s shirt, Radioman 70, it leads to Radioman70.com, which then forwards you to a website called FunAndPrettyThings.com. This website seems to be filled with a collection of random pictures but if you click on the picture of the woman and the computer, the user will be prompted to enter a pass phrase.
If you enter the phrase “Do you want to talk?”, you will be taken to a series of messages between Radioman70 and his daughter Megan.
The site has been continually updating with new messages so I would recommend giving it a look.
The ARG is talking a lot about satellites and the Soviets which is a bit discouraging due to the fact that all of us really want to see some giant monster action but I guess we will have to wait a little while till the movie releases to find out the truth.
10 Cloverfield Lane stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, John Goodman, and John Gallagher, Jr. and hits theaters March 11th.
