The film will boast “other main characters” in addition to Deadpool and Cable.
[dropcap size=small]D[/dropcap]espite the fact that 20th Century Fox has yet to announce an actor for the role of Cable the studio, and producer Simon Kinberg have confirmed that both the Merc with a Mouth and his frenemy Cable will be teaming up for the X-Force film. Both characters are set to appear in Deadpool 2 and so it seems that the sequel to the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time is a stepping point that will lead up to X-Force.
In an interview with Deadline, producer Simon Kinberg announced that Cable and Deadpool would be main characters in the film but that there are “other main characters” as well. Simon Kinberg went on to say that X-Force “is a combination of Deadpool, and Cable – they’re like the Black ops of the X-Men. They’re much darker and have an R-rated decibel.”
Overall, it’s nice to hear that 20th Century Fox plans on keeping all films starring Deadpool as R-rated films. If the studio decided to change the rating of the upcoming films to PG-13 it would ruin the series. Combining Deadpool’s no filter mouth with Cable’s dead serious attitude is a recipe for hilarious situations that we all can’t wait to see unfold in these next two films.
