Sony’s movie streaming site Crackle has released the first trailer for Dead Rising: Watchtower, a new full-length film based on the popular zombie action series from Capcom.
Following the basic premise of the game series, the movie follows four survivors fighting to stay alive as they seek out the root of a zombie epidemic after a government-produced vaccine fails to halt the spread of the infection.
Fans of the video game series will be pleased to see that the series’ beloved protagonist, Frank West, will appear in the film, played by Rob Riggle (Step Brothers). The film will also star Jesse Metcalfe (John Tucker Must Die), Meghan Ory (Once Upon A Time), Virginia Madsen (Sideways), and Dennis Haysbert (24).
Watchtower was directed by Zach Lipovsky (Leprachaun: Origins). It is produced by Godzilla and Warcraft studio Legendary Entertainment’s TV and Digital Media division.
