Carl Ellsworth (Goosebumps) has been hired as head writer for the upcoming Gremlins remake, and will give us his interpretation of the rapidly reproducing little green nightmares.

[dropcap size=small]F[/dropcap]or years we have been asking ourselves, “Are they ever going to remake Gremlins?” The film was rumored to start production, but recently fell dead in the water. Now that Carl Ellsworth is on board, there is new life to the new version of the cult classic.

Along with Ellsworth’s script, this recreation will have the original writing and producing team of Chris Columbus and Steven Spielberg. There were rumors about Columbus directing the film, but the studio is looking for a less costly alternative to head the project. Spielberg will also be checking on the production frequently and giving feedback as the film progresses.

The imaginative film was about a boy who inadvertently breaks 3 important rules concerning his new pet and unleashes a gang of evil, mischievous monsters on a small town.
