The upcoming Uncharted film featuring Tom Holland in the role of young Nathan Drake and Mark Wahlberg as Victor Sullivan seems to constantly be taking one step forward and several back. The constant stop and go of production on this film suggest that it would remain in ‘development hell’ indefinitely, but it seems Sony is eager to make this movie.
Variety is reporting that Sony has locked down a Spring 2021 release date with a handful of cast and crew joining the film including Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland, Venom) as director and Antonio Banderas in an unspecified role.
Uncharted, which will be a prequel to the globally successful Uncharted games by developer Naughty Dog, is set to build a franchise starting on the early days of Nathan Drake’s adventures, something we only caught glimpses of in the four key games.
Uncharted is set to release on March 5, 2021.
