Bookmakers are slashing the prices on Tom Hardy succeeding Daniel Craig as the next Bond following a flurry of online support.
[dropcap size=small]I[/dropcap]rish bookmaker BoyleSports has this week been forced to cut prices on British actor Tom Hardy becoming the next James Bond. The Mad Max: Fury Road star is now 4/1 from 6/1 following a wave of support at the online betting company, and Bond author Anthony Horowitz’s claims that current favourite Idris Elba is ‘too street‘ to pull off the suaveness of 007.
BoyleSports PR Executive Liam Glynn has released a statement, explaining that the company has been shaken (not stirred) by the sudden support.
‘With the support showing no signs of drying up, we are expecting Tom Hardy to be the new favourite for the role sooner rather than later, which could result in BoyleSports being hit hard if Hardy lands the role.’
Hardy is closing in on Elba and Homeland‘s Damian Lewis, who are 3/1 favourites as it stands. Hardy is right up there with the Man of Steel himself, Henry Cavill, at 4/1, while Michael Fassbender, Richard Armitage and Orlando Bloom make up the list of frontrunners.
Daniel Craig will play Bond for a fourth and possibly final time in Spectre, which hits theatres November 6th.
